SA: PRESIDENT
ZUMA PRESIDENCY.
This morning
Prof. Amanda Gouws, political scientist from the University of Stellenbosch,
made a realistic suggestion. She spoke in connection with no confidence vote of
the DA that will be lodged in Parliament in SA. She spoke on RSG, Afrikaans
Radio station in SA. She said frankly that this action will all be in vain,
because the ANC are the majority party in Parliament. I think she is right. She
suggested to the Opposition Parties to make an offer to Pres. Zuma namely that
the Parliament give him immunity against any kind of prosecution. It seems
logic as one evaluates it against the background of the fact that Pres. Zuma cling
to power because of him afraid to be prosecuted. But that is an assumption. If
this proposal of Prof Gouws is a possibility what will the reaction be from the
Law people? Cope? Eff?
Our evaluation
of Pres Zuma all depend on our viewpoint. We, say for instants the whites, will
be more critical than the majority of black ANC members.
Pres. Zuma, he
will decide, in co-operation of the Executive of the ANC what is best for him,
the ANC and SA. Our opinion will count little, because we are in the minority.
To wish would not help at all. To be more critical will not help. We must
depend on historical factors which is impossible to predict. We are not in an
apocalypse. We must be led by rational thoughts without emotions. And those
thoughts must look at the bigger picture.
